Lawns Park's Governors
 Last updated 26.9.17
A message from Mrs Donna Kellett, our Chair of Governors.

Welcome to Lawns Park Primary School on behalf of the Governing Body. Governors are people who bring a range of experience and interests to the school and working together with the senior leadership team in school to ensure that the school provides the very best for its pupils.

The governors have an important role to play in raising school standards through their key roles and responsibilities. They discuss and agree the school’s vision and aims for the future monitor and evaluate teaching and learning strategies, pupil behaviour and attendance, the schools budget and policy-making.

We meet as a full governing body once a term. Governors are also members of at least one of the other main committees: the Teaching and Learning Committee, Pupil Support Committee and the Resources Committee who meet on a similar basis. The head teacher and members of the senior leadership team also attend these meetings.

Currently the governing body comprises of twelve governors, two parent governors, one governor appointed by Leeds education authority, seven co opted governors who provide local knowledge and are chosen by the other governors, the head teacher and one other elected staff member as well as one associate governor.

If you are interested in finding out more about the work of the governing body, or if indeed you are interested in becoming a governor, then you may wish to see copies of minutes of governing body meetings and various reports to the governing body. These can be viewed in school or the latest minutes can be accessed from the link on the right. Minutes have to be agreed by the full Governing Body at the subsequent meeting, so they only become available approximately 4 months after the initial meeting.

If you would like to contact the governing body to discuss any issues or inquire about becoming a governor then please email the School Bursar, carol.mould@lawnspark.org.uk or call into the office to arrange a meeting. You can also register with the School Governor One Stop Shop, www.sgoss.org.uk.
