Kate introduced herself and told KS2 children about her job, talking through her process of writing books. There was an interactive segment with the children, asking them what they like to read and who their favourite authors are. Kate then showed us the types of books that she has written, stories about amazing women! The first focus was one of her books called We are all Inventors. During this, Kate had two children go to the front and dress up as two different characters.  She read out parts of the book and spoke about what influenced her to write the book and the inventions in it. Following this, the children came up with their own inventions, they shared their ideas with their peers and then drew them and the character from the book, Lizzie Spark.
