Year 6 travelled back to the 1940s to experience a day in WIWI.
Year 6 had a fantastic time taking part in a WWII Experience Day. They trained as ARP officers and learnt how to administer first aid, put out fires and make unexploded bombs safer. The children had the opportunity to handle and examine lots of real WWII artefacts, bringing their learning to life. They also discovered what life was like during the war, including the experiences of evacuees, the importance of blackouts and the challenges of rationing. It was an exciting and memorable day that helped Year 6 understand what life was really like during WWII.
