Foundation Stage

Last Updated 19April 2026

Welcome to our Foundation Stage webpage. A place where we celebrate children's learning, keep you informed about school life and provide you with trusted sites to support your child and continue the learning journey at home.

Below, you can take a look around your classroom. We wonder where you will choose to play and learn?

Under the 'Information' section you will find our 'subject planners.' These documents show what your children will be learning each week as they progress through the term.

Spring Term: Where in the World?

This half-term we will begin with a look at seasonal change, exploring the world around us, making observations and sharing the things we notice.  Inspired by the artwork of David Hockney we will create our very own spring-based art.

We will be visiting Nell Bank in Ilkley as an exciting and immersive way to launch our next theme, 'Bears'. We will have first-hand experiences of the great outdoors, going on our very own Bear Hunt. This will help us to develop our storytelling and drama skills, along with our artistic skills and much more.

Don't forget you can keep abreast of the learning your child will be engaging in by having a look at our 'subject planners' under the information heading.

You can share your child's 'out of school' experiences with us via our class email address. F1@lawnspark.org.uk. We really do appreciate these contributions; it is wonderful to see your children proudly share these memories/achievements with their friends and teachers.

Join us for a fabulous half-term of learning fun.

Your child will be familiar and confident with this book, having read it at least three times with an adult in school. Please share this book with your child and make a comment in their reading diary.  Please also use this diary to record  any other books you may have shared at home.   At Lawns Park we encourage all our parents and carers to read at least three times at home with their child.
