THE LAWNS PARK CURRICULUM

We have carefully designed our curriculum to match the interests and needs of our pupils. The following document gives a detailed overview of our curriculum intentions, its implementation and how we measure the impact we have made through key assessment opportunities. We have also included a detailed overview  for each area of the curriculum to show progression of skills and knowledge across the school.

Based on the National Curriculum, our intention is to provide pupils with an engaging, broad and balanced curriculum, where every aspect of learning is important, and key skills are developed and built-on over time. We have invested in resources, visitors and visits to enhance our curriculum and match the needs of our pupils.

You will find further information about the curriculum for your child's class on the class webpage. If you would like any further information please contact your child's class teacher.

At Lawns Park Primary School, all teachers are responsible for providing an inclusive curriculum that is differentiated for those with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND). We have high expectations for all pupils and are committed to ensuring our curriculum complies with the Equality Act 2010 and the Special Educational Needs and Disability Regulations 2014. Additional information on this can be found in our Special Education Needs Information Report and Equalities Policy.

PHONICS & READING

The documents below detail Lawns Park's approach to phonics, showing you what we expect our pupils to know and do from Foundation Stage through to Year 1. We follow Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised.  For more detailed information about our approach to reading please click on Parents tab and look for Reading Corner.
