Message from Miss Ford 12.6.20

Dear parents, carers and all my Lawns Parkers,
We have seen another week of key announcements which are gradually moving towards a relaxation of
lock down. I do hope that it has meant that you have been able to see more friends or talk face to face
with a loved one properly for the first time, or even go back into work.
Our second week has been busier with more staff, key worker children and government key year group
pupils in school. Although it has been like a military operation with staggered times and specified gates
for entry, it has worked well in general and our children are gradually breathing life and energy back into
our school. We thank parents for their support to make this work as safely and as smoothly as possible.
Next week sees the return of some of our Year 1 pupils. The Year 1 Pod Team are eagerly awaiting your arrival. Due to the government announcement that not all year groups are expected back in school by the beginning of July, we have been able to introduce a new pod. These pupils will also be starting on Monday.
The number of pupils in school has now almost reached capacity because of safety restrictions and safe distancing, meaning that all staff are now engaged with more in-school learning. Home learning will still be assigned via the two-weekly timetable with its additional learning challenges. Foundation Stage pupils will receive their usual Learning Journey recommendations.
We love receiving your pictures of home learning, but to streamline this a little, we ask that you only
send pictures related to themes, challenges or the work set on the timetables and web pages.
Next week is the final whole school challenge, titled: Miss Pashley’s Pyjamas. This design technology
challenge will ask pupils to create some ‘work pyjamas’ for our busy deputy head to get her through the
day, no matter what comes her way. There is a super-cuddly prize for the winning garment! Entries for
this close on Thursday 18th June, with the winner announced on Friday 19th.
Once again, I would just like to say what a fabulous job you are all doing out there, parent, carers and
pupils alike. It is so challenging but so many of you are still learning every day. Well done and thank you.
Remember we are here to help, please call us.
Keep smiling and stay healthy, happy and dry!
From Miss Ford
