  • A Message from Miss Ford to parents, carers and pupils 26.4.20

    Sun 26 Apr 2020

Dear parents, carers and all my Lawns Parkers,
I hope you are having lovely weekend before the rain sets in next week!
For those of you who are receiving e vouchers for food, these have been emailed or posted or been
picked up by you which will cover you until 1.5.20. As you already know there are still issues with Edenred (the system that the government is using to organise the ordering of e vouchers for the whole country) but Shelly is working really hard to try and make sure that you get your e vouchers as soon as is possible. Please ring if you are experiencing problems and we will try our best to help you.

We hope that you enjoyed the new timetable last week and that you managed to watch the new
education channel to support you at home called “Bitesize” which we would recommend (go to our
Home Learning page for details and links). The photographs of your home learning are brilliant, thank
you for sending them to your teachers. We have noticed that some children are not sending them in and we are worried about you, so we will be giving you a ring next week to see how you are and see how we can help. We do know how difficult it is to work from home and try to keep your children learning.

So, we have another two weeks to go before we hear from the government about any changes to lock
down; keep going, you are doing the right thing by staying at home.

    Have a great week!

    From Miss Ford

  • New Timetables, BBC Bitesize and the latest update from Miss Ford

    Fri 17 Apr 2020
Dear parents, carers and all my Lawns Parkers,
I hope you had a lovely Easter break, although I appreciate it will have been a strange one. The weather
has been so beautiful though, so I hope you managed to get outside and enjoy the sun together.
For those of you that were expecting e vouchers for food, you should have received your email by now,
please contact us if you haven’t and we will try to help. The system that the government is using to
organise the ordering of e vouchers for the whole country has been swamped with orders so there have
been some teething problems, but we hope that those of you who requested vouchers posted have also
received yours too. Please ring if you are experiencing problems.
We will start our new Summer Term on Monday, so please keep your eye on the website and the class
pages in particular, where you can find a new timetable for the week. Also please keep the photographs
of your home learning coming, they are an absolute pleasure to see and I am so proud of how eager you
    are to keep learning.
From Monday you will also be able to watch the new BBC channel “Bitesize” which is split into age
groups for you and has lots of programmes and a timetable to help you with learning. There are six
different 20 minute shows aired live on BBC iplayer and BBC Red Button starting at 9am, each designed
to target a specific age group, from ages five to 14. Maths, Science and English will be covered in
dedicated programmes, and other subjects such as History, Geography, Music and Art will also be
    covered.
Go to our Home Learning page for details and links.
It looks like we have another three weeks of home learning like this at least, so keep going, you are
doing really well. Remember you are part of an amazing piece of worldwide history.
    Have a lovely weekend everybody!
  • OFSTED Report & The Latest Update from Miss Ford

Fri 10 Apr 2020 Miss Ford
Dear parents, carers and all my Lawns Parkers,
This is a very short message just say I hope that you all have a happy and safe Easter. All the Lawns Park
team can’t wait to see you again, but we still have to stay at home and “do our bit”.
You might also like to know that OFSTED phoned me yesterday to say that I can share the report they
did when they came to visit us in early March. They also said that the report and “good” grading will not
appear on the OFSTED website until schools re open. So, I will happily share this with you because I am
so proud of my pupils and my amazing staff. The lead OFSTED inspector said herself that the pupils at
this school are “adorable”. Our children have spirit and personality, they showed our inspectors that
    they love to learn.
The new style report is very brief, but it is incredibly positive about our school. In our meetings with the
inspectors she often used the words “elements of outstanding” particularly when she described the
school’s approach to developing our pupils as fully rounded humans and how the school cares for our
families and our pupils. I could go on, but I think you should just read it!
    Happy Easter everybody!
