  • School Council

    Mon 02 Oct 2023

Congratulations to all of our new school council team. The children have been writing letters applying for different roles in the council and were voted for by their peers. Mr Chapman then worked with the new team and selected a chair, vice-chair and office managers based on the skills they had demonstrated in our initial meetings. The school council have three key priorities to begin with:

    1. Give every child in school a voice.

    2. Make changes which improve the school for everyone.

    3. Be role-models at all time.

We have no doubt that the new team will have a significant impact on life at Lawns Park over the coming year.

  • Lawns Park Garden of Hope

    Fri 07 Jan 2022

We’re raising funds to create a “Garden of Hope” in the school grounds for our children and families to enjoy. We want to create an oasis of peace and beauty for our children to enjoy during their busy days. We will create a mini garden area with flowers, plants and seating. Children will be able to spend time thinking and reflecting or chatting to their friends in a natural environment.

We’re delighted that “The Lawns Park Garden of Hope” has been chosen to benefit from the Co-op Local Community Fund and we wondered if you could support us to raise funds for our school project?

For more information, see the letters section of our website here.

  • School visits are back on the agenda!

We have had guidance from the local authority that we are able to start to offer school visits as long as they are able to operate within COVID risk assessments. We are making plans - so watch this space for further information.

  • Sports clubs to resume.

    Sun 25 Apr 2021

This week we are resuming sports clubs at lunchtimes and afterschool. This is a brilliant step forward and a perfect way to promote the physical and mental health of our pupils. We do have to work within our COVID risk assessment and this restricts how many clubs and the kinds of clubs we can offer at this time. We will be reviewing as we get more guidance.  We are also hoping to compete with other schools within the locality soon as well! Watch this space.

  • Climbing tower - led by Herd farm

    Fri 23 Apr 2021
As yet we are not able to visit places to enhance our fabulous curriculum but we can have experiences come to us. This may be virtual or in person. On Friday 23rd April the Herd Farm team are bringing their climbing tower to us for Y5 and Y4 to challenge themselves and meet aspects of the PSHE and PE curriculum. There is a comprehensive risk assessment in place to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID 19. On the day children need to wear school jumpers with black joggers/leggings and trainers!
  • Sports coaches in school. Rhinos and Chance to Shine cricket

    Mon 19 Apr 2021
We are lucky to be able to be able to enhance our excellent  PE provision with professional coaches from the world of cricket and rugby. This term the children will experience sessions led by our familiar professional Rhino coach Harvey and our new Cricket coach Jamie. We are really looking forward to getting back our sporting offer back on track! We are also able to restart competition with other schools locally. Mr Brown just can't wait to restart our wining record!
